Die Motorkontrollleuchte zeigt Fehler im Fahrzeugsystem an. Welcher Fehler dies genau ist, kann nur mithilfe einer Onboarddiagnose festgestellt werden.

Onboarddiagnose

Es gibt zwei Möglichkeiten, bei Problemen eine Fehlerauslesung durchzuführen:

1. Lesegerät: hierbei wird mit einem elektronischen Lesegerät (z.B. OBD2 Lesegerät wiTECH oder StarSCAN) der Fehler ausgelesen und auf dem Gerätedisplay angezeigt. Der Eingang für das OBD2-Lesegerät ist unter dem Armaturenbrett in der Flucht von der Mitte des Lenkrads.

2. Manuell: um nur den Fehlercode auszulesen (ohne weitere Aktionsmöglichkeiten), wird der s.g. „Schlüsseltrick“ angewendet. Hierbei den Zündschlüssel relativ schnell 3x von Stellung 1 in Stellung 2 drehen. Im EVIC wird dann die evtl. Fehlermeldung als Zahlenfolge angezeigt.

Fehlercodes der Onboarddiagnose

Sollte die Anzeige VMM123 auftauchen: VMM steht für Vehicle Memory Module und die Ziffern sind einfach nur die Versionsnummer, die von Modell zu Modell variieren kann!
